Home in Ontario, Week 1

Early last Wednesday morning I started my long journey across the country home. Thank goodness for airplanes. I arrived home to be greeted by the overcast and chilly weather that is known as spring here.  Although it may not be as sunny as California, I think it is the change and lack of constant laughter that I grew used to at University that has really been leaving me in an overcast mood.  The memories gained and lovely people that I met there have changed my life for the better and that is something that I will always treasure. :)

This week has been weird to say the least. Being home, being somewhere different, living with different people, remembering what chores are, dropping off resumes, taxes, cleaning, and remembering how to make food. (I love being able to make food for myself actually though.)

One of the best things about coming home though, was I already mail waiting for me!
The benefits of writing missionaries definitely just comes down to actually getting mail. ;)

Sunday was my first time in the YSA ward here and it was definitely interesting. It was testimony meeting and the first guy who got up told us about how he loved the ward but was definitely excited that he would be leaving soon- he was getting married.  Also, there is a large enough group of people who don't speak English that they had Mandarin Sunday school class and English Sunday school class. The blocks start with Relief Society, then Sunday School, then Sacrament meeting. So I was surprised when the number of people doubled when going into sacrament meeting.  My sister was unable to attend that week, so it was just me with all of these people.  I missed the sassy and loving ward I had loved so much in Provo, but I'm trying to be optimistic about my future experiences in this ward. haha They're definitely keeping it interesting.

Goals for the summer:
  • Get in shape! Lose the freshman weight yo. My sister-in-law and I are working out together so hopefully there will be progress!
  • Buy overalls and a floppy sun hat! <3 <3 <3 <3
  • Start a garden
  • Get a job :s Hopefully really soon!
  • Step up my blogging game
