Breakfast At Tiffany's

Breakfast At Tiffany's
Director: Blake Edwards
1961

Audrey Hepburn stars in this wonderful movie from 1961.  I just watched it. Stayed up late on a school night to enjoy this heart warming classic. Oh my goodness, I never expected to love and enjoy it as much as I did.

Here's one of my favorite parts, Holly Golightly is singing on her windowsill. To the huckleberry friend.

What is it that just makes me want to have an excuse to dress like Audrey Hepburn in this movie all the time? haha. Who would've thought such a funny movie could be so heart warming? Breakfast at Tiffany's, I never thought that it would literally have to do with breakfast at Tiffany's. Is that just ridiculous? I don't know haha but it made me so glad that she really did have breakfast at Tiffany's.

"Well, when I get it the only thing that does any good is to jump in a cab and go to Tiffany's. Calms me down right away. The quietness and the proud look of it; nothing very bad could happen to you there. If I could find a real-life place that'd make me feel like Tiffany's, then - then I'd buy some furniture and give the cat a name" ~Holly Golightly

Holly Golightly: I'll tell you one thing, Fred, darling... I'd marry you for your money in a minute. Would you marry me for my money?
Paul Varjak: In a minute.
Holly Golightly: I guess it's pretty lucky neither of us is rich, huh?
Paul Varjak: Yeah.

The fact that they always went through the windows and fire exits <3
"You know what's wrong with you, Miss Whoever-you-are? You're chicken, you've got no guts. You're afraid to stick out your chin and say, "Okay, life's a fact, people do fall in love, people do belong to each other, because that's the only chance anybody's got for real happiness." You call yourself a free spirit, a "wild thing," and you're terrified somebody's gonna stick you in a cage. Well baby, you're already in that cage. You built it yourself. And it's not bounded in the west by Tulip, Texas, or in the east by Somali-land. It's wherever you go. Because no matter where you run, you just end up running into yourself."

Paul Varjak: I love you.
Holly Golightly: So what.
Paul Varjak: So what? So plenty! I love you, you belong to me!
Holly Golightly: [tearfully] No. People don't belong to people.
Paul Varjak: Of course they do!
Holly Golightly: I'll never let ANYBODY put me in a cage.
Paul Varjak: I don't want to put you in a cage, I want to love you!

La petite évasion

That one place, the one that always seem to be calling to you. You're so far, yet for some reason although you've never been there, you know its where you need to be.  Freedom and life, discovering and learning, taking on the world.  Close to the coast but secluded and alone. Somewhere I could fix up to my own liking and drive into town on Sundays for church.  Work at a cute café and maybe a Senior's home too.  At this little home I would read and learn. Gain knowledge. As fast and as much as possible.  Almost like place described at the beginning of Safe Haven by Nicolas Sparks.

h man though.  If I could get my hands on a working VCR, that my friend would be golden.  Can you imagine? In the little place by the coast, maybe southern BC?  All the movies given up for DVDs could be found and probably bought for cheap.  My VCR collection too.  A VCR and pull out couch in the basement.  Shelves and shelves of books lining the walls and maybe a living room lamp or a string of bulb lights across the ceiling.  The perfect getaway.

P.S. For you Matt. Darling I would drive to California in a minute ;) haha

Private Libraries <3

Someone's VHS collection. Its pretty sweet right? :)

Spared from Spare a day longer.

Our school has the most frustratingly terrible schedule system.  At the end of each school year you put in the classes you need for the year to come.  I really don't even understand why though.  Because at the beginning of every year if you are lucky enough to actually receive a schedule, you then wait weeks to get it changed from all the ridiculous nonsense classes you were put in instead of the ones you need for your actual schooling and graduating and university requirements.  Anyways. I still have band in my schedule instead of spare for this reason. But Mr J. being the awesome band teacher he is, let me just have spare anyways.  Which I was happy for since my friend had the same spare as me. Yet, when I walked around and looked she was no where to be found.  Probably went home since it was the end of the day I assume, or just went to go hang out with a different friend, I was left awkwardly by myself for a period during the school day. After awkwardly circling the school looking for anyone I knew that I could sit with, I headed to the library as the results of my search were empty. So here I was, writing this blog post at 2:14 about in the upper level of the library trying to understand why some kid was wearing a plastic crown upon his head.  The 3 gamer geeks were quiet though on the other side of the room while I sat and procrastinated my math. We're still only reviewing last years math, and I'm already lost. :/

Down the Drain

Oh my goodness. I can't stand it when people just don't seem to know how to act in public. When you're invited over to someone's house you are a guest. And you DON'T have to stay.  If you want to go and pout in the corner than go pout in the corner somewhere else. The entire night I was thinking I am not ever inviting you again.  Like "Why are you here right now?" That's what I wanted to ask, just why? Because trust me you're not anything near as funny as you think you are, you were rude and just made me so angry.  I couldn't help but be frustrated thanks to you.  I'm just so disappointed that the entire get together seemed to go down the drain. There was no enthusiasm, no manners, no willingness to be involved, and definitely no social skills or decent conversation being contributed by you, that's for sure. Like oh my lanta. I guess this entire post has become a blurb of me venting.  I just wish that not everything was for nothing.

Pictures in a Field

I love these girls so much.  They are honestly some of the most wonderful people anyone could ever meet.  They are strong and true to what they believe in. They know who they are and are always kind.  They are loyal, extremely hilarious and my best friends.
<3 <3 <3

I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person.
~Audrey Hepburn

Where the Driveway Ends....

Beautiful Chalk drawings by l'artist Dallin et l'artiste Destiny.

And our Story began

There was a sheep

There was a man
who put the sheep in a box

but this lady named Mary is in love with him

So he said talk to the hand

So he got struck by lightning

Which let the sheep escape and become this crazy superhero sheep

And it flew through the time space continuum

And it flew through.

Turns out the superhero sheep was me.

So I dropped the wool from the sheep

Listen Children, This is how clouds were Invented

Muscles were too mainstream so she lost those too.

And then there was this QTPI monkey with a banana
and was named Holly
